Some news from me...

It's been a busy half a month for the world. Not for me - time's standing still as far as I'm concerned. About the only interesting thing that's happened recently is me getting my hair cut down to something where individual strands can't be more than two and a half inches long.

So I see SheezyArt's changed it's Terms again. All art that doesn't show you mean it goes in your "Shareables" folder. Personally, I'd rather have them change it to Scraps. Oh, and any AMV work must go in Scraps as well..

Does that carry over to Flash animations which use copyrighted soundtracks I wonder?

So yeah. Ross went crazy in his journals. Good for him. And even better for those who remembered that you can disable journals in your watch list.

I'm guessing a hundred or so people on my watch list already have me down for that.

I've started hanging around the 3dtotal forums. I'm taking part in the low poly modelling contests they have there at the moment (whilst looking on in awe at the speed modelling ones).

I'll be modelling that for thier current "Angel" contest. 5000 to play about with, and I'm currently up to about 2000 on the head and rough of the body

I'm also trying to model various aspects of my nostalgia in max as well. Specifically, platform game characters from PC games I played way back when. More on that as I make them.

Oh wait, I don't like using WIPs and I don't like the idea of calling scraps shareables. Hohum...

I want to go back to uni so badly... :/

Island Gorilla Says:

I kinda like the idea of non-arty art going in a separate folder.

Does raise the problem of the variance of what people define as art, but hey. If it improves the general quality of submissions, it's fine by me.

University that good then?

Catleen Says:

The design looks wicked, I love the whole techno look. My only con-crit is maybe make the waist a bit bigger.

As for the sectioning I think they should at least re-name "sharables" to start. I've never really had a use for it but I might start considering it.

BTW, what program do you use for your graphics? I'm going to start getting into 3D soon. =D

topcatyo Says:

Pretty cool idea for the angel. The shorts seem rather out of place, though.
Entering the contest is probably a great way to practice. If you do them long enough, you could probably make rather impressive stuff without many polygons.

RuneAura Says:

The point of AMVs is that you take a song that somebody made, you take animation the somebody made, and you reorganize it; none of it is actually original material.

So if it has original stuff, it gets to go in Art.

RuneAura Says:

You make the visuals, not just reorganizing them;

Thus, as long as you make the visuals, it's good.
