ever-strangling silence

My roommate told me today that she doesn't like me.



She said I'm strange and that I scare her.
"My friends never hung out with people like you in high school so I didn't either," she said.

I have a joke with my friends here that I'm a homicidal pirate wench. She told me she took it literally and was afraid I would steal her stuff. She even left the room to sleep somewhere else last night because she said she was afraid I would kill her.

::sighs::

"I thought we'd get along at first since you weren't wearing all black when we moved in," she continued. "And I thought you were only wearing that bandana because it was raining." <---- refering to my pirate bandana that I wear to keep the hair out of my face.

"But my friends said I should talk to you anyway."

O_o

"I'm used to getting what I want and now I'm not and I'm uncomfortable. Just don't touch my stuff and we'll be fine."

It's just like being at home again. Except I have five other AMAZING suite mates who adore me and I adore them, so I'm not alone at all. I feel very happy here, even with the current situation.

Then she called Lauren and I into a meeting with her and Rachel, who is Lauren's roommate. They get along.

"I'm unhappy," she said. "And we were wondering if one of you would switch rooms."

I felt like screaming! I'm just feeling settled and now she wants me to move all my shit again and start over. It's very frustrating to have a roommate that is this immature and selfish.

Oh well. I'll do my best to make it work.
