If you look below, down to the system specs. You'll see the Wii's processor, Codename: Broadway and a very interesting number beside it.

729 MHz?

While being a very strange number by itself. The speed for the Intel based processor that Microsoft used for it's Xbox clocked at 733 MHz. (a whole SNES faster!)

Of course I don't take this too seriously and neither should you. We'll probably have to wait 'till a good bit after launch before we get some good hard technical details, but the words supe'd up Xbox do seem to match up a bit. And the way developers were just using overclocked GameCubes. Mmm, maybe that's where Gamestop's getting this information from. Some developer said this and such is what speed they developed for. (OH NOES, ENDING WITH PREPOSITIONS!!#?!#)

Anyway, processor speed (SNES to Genesis) and technical capability (3DO to...anything) isn't EVERYTHING, but it can restrict some things important to gameplay (but not much). And then there are those developers that are all, "Wow...this thing is weak...let's go develop on the Xbox! (*cough* Totally not Team Ninja *cough*) Not that anyone actually cares about those types anyway.

And even if the speed is less than 1 ghz, clock speed is not the all determining factor in preformance. It's mostly about the architecture.

At anyrate, as long as everything looks as good or better than Super Mario Galaxy, the Wii'll do just fine.

And now to something more important and why I wasted my time even talking about that information.

I could be getting a job at Gamestop. I applied and went in for my interview. I'm pretty good friends with Heather (the girl I'm replacing) and Yoali, Yaoli..Yoli?...I'll just call'er Y from here-on out (2nd key which is like, 2nd in charge). I'll also note that being a slinky (half filipino, half white) has finally paid off (they're slinkies too, hurrah).

After the interview, Y, said I did a great job and I totally sold that pen with the "It makes great smiley faces!" line. She called the manager and told him stuff like, "I think he's definatly the one," and "He's well-groomed and polite" and grood stuff like that. I will note that being well groomed for a job in which geeks of all kinds will apply helps A LOT.

"If only they took care of themselves as well as their computers" - Heather (She's funny as hell).

I have a really good feeling about this job. If I get the job, I'll get 3rd key (which is 3rd in charge, standard clerk stuff and I'll be dealing with some of the money stuff) and that is very sweet.

A call from the manager should be coming in today (Sunday...reminding self due to problem with going to fucking sleep lately) or tommarie. Argh, I hate being this kind of excited. Stomach tossing around between dissapointment, anxiety, joy and little pink butterflies.

Oy, good night everybody. Best of luck to everybody and myself.
