The "masterpiece" feature is being as thanklessly taken advantage of as the favorites feature was. It's not a technological flaw, people are just purposely being destructive. Why does nobody on this site seem to understand the saying "it's a privilege, not a right"? The funniest thing is when I see somebody try to cite the US constitution or even just say "it's a free country" and expect moderators and Spencer to go, "Oh, you're right; we forgot. Sorry."
"
Renner's abruptly gone" doesn't mean much to me, but what I thought was real interesting was the last line of her farewell: "I'm trying to find a place where freedom of artistic expression covers more than furries and anime." Shrug. I mean, we've all joked about that plenty of times, but now it seems more realistic. I couldn't care less about the controversy over whoever it was that started all this.
But then that brings up another question: Say somebody bought the SheezyArt source code from Spencer and CC and created a site just like this one but banned or discouraged anime, Flash, and kids. I guess you could compare such a place to DeviantArt, but they have plenty of other reasons why people won't join. But this is getting into a waste of time to think about any more.
In other news, you may have noticed my latest page overrides, which are made of missing images.
I wonder if I'd be breaking a rule by listing the user I currently find most annoying inside each journal entry. I should find out, because that would be fun.

Nobody expects Nancy the diapered Pie! Which has nothing to do with your journal entry whatsoever.
Miroku of Nite Says:
Yeah the most Annoying Internet Culture Jokes is dead on. As for Renner being gone it dose not bug me as much. I come to SA to host stuff and interact with a few neat people, as for the masterpiece thing it has helped remove some 30 min anime drawings off the front page. But I do see your point. As for people citing the US constitution or even just say "it's a free country" that reminds me of the guy who went to Singapore and vandalized some cars and was cained, and in his defense he said "I am a American and I have constitutional rights" or something like that. But it seems people fail to see that their rights stop at the boarder both digital and physical.
Nanook Says:
Renner left? Oh, well, that's news to me. I suppose there comes a point in time where those that are unhappy with the system will leave. The majority of the population wants anime and furries, so those of us that do not must deal with that portion of artwork today or leave to somewhere else.
As for the masterpiece button-- people are mindless, for the most part, and if someone writes "Masterpiece this because...", there are people who feel obligied to do so. In the end, majority rules, majority wins, minority lives with the consequences. Isn't that how the whole world works, though?
As for the culture jokes... I agree with you on that. I always found the 'productions' one mildly amusing, though.
What do you mean by 'win'?
Hideto Love Says:
I personally hate "epic win" "epic fail"
My sister says that all the time and I want to punch her in her stupid 15 year old face
