This is RIDICULOUS!!!!! It's been, what, 4 WEEKS NOW????????? why can't I have my tablet back?????
I'll tell you why.
It's not about the stupid dishes anymore, my parents just want to control me until I'm a perfect little A+ cheerleader who dates all the right guys and wears pink all the time and DOESN'T DRAW. because they want me to take over the family buisness(commercial interiors) because I'm the creative/artistic person in the family, even though I've told them already that I would rather drop dead than do that for the rest of my life (it's so boring, I couldnt' even last a DAY). my dad even tells me: I'm going to make you so uncomfortable, you'll WANT to do anything I tell you, and you'll do it right away! He thinks I forget things all the time because I don't care about them enough, so he says if he makes it uncomfortable enough for me, I'll care more about doing the dishes, and I won't forget.
small problem dad.
IT'S A MEDICAL CONDITION.
*DUR*
I CAN'T HELP MY FORGETFULLNESS.
SO GIVE ME MY EFFING TABLET
BACK!!!!!!!!!
NoodleNeko Says:
Well, I understand both sides of that. I'm sure they just want you to try and be more responsible. My parents gave me a hard time till I started willingly pitching in to help. I even started offering to help with things that they knew I could care less about. Now, things aren't so bad. However, as far as you taking over the family business is concerned, parents need to realize that they're dreams for you might not be YOUR dreams for you. But that's all parents. Mine want me to get a job working for the government and collecting a 6 figure paycheck, when I'd much rather do something creative and maybe have to scrape by for a while. However, you'll never make your parents understand that. If you don't want to work the family business, best thing to do would be to get your education or whatever you decide to do and keep moving in the direction YOU want to go. It's YOUR life and you have to live it. (keep in mind I'm not telling you to have a confrontation with your parents... )
As for being forgetful, I have a problem with that myself, and making me uncomfortable doesn't help. However... what does help is: the vitamins that benefit memory, writing things down (lists are good), and repetition. Also, setting up a routine isn't bad either (such as having specific nights that you do specific chores). Mind you, these are just suggestions.
and don't take this as me thinking your silly for being frustrated. I honestly understand. However, if you can show your parents that you're capable of handling things on your own, and that your TRYING to remember and to help... they might ease up on you.
Just a thought.

Well, I don't really know what I should say, except that
gave you some good tips.
Iron Soul Says:
geez, why do we need these kind of forcing parents? i have my problems as well. my parents think that it would be better if i were an engineer or somethig that would supply more money than a writer! i swear we live in the same world, with the same people. thats probably why i have started to rebel with everyone, chosing the uncoolest things i can think of just to get away from the "popular" crowd. ever since i did this, i gained more good friends than enemies. i met you of course, and that changed my world. now the thought of going back to a person trying to fit in" seems impossible, and i would never do it. when i turn 18, just to show my parents im a rebel, ill get a tatoo. lol it will say: the writer (in old english cursive).. now isn't that spiffy? i really feel bad for you. i have a writers block myself. the best poem ive come up was this: (its not very good, dont laugh)
God, what is the world coming to
when literature fades
away,
and we begin to burn our passionate texts
for fuel.
Poor fireside 451,
thine literature invested in me
shall throw the world
at God's humble feet
and be cleansed henceforth
of our portruding blood stain,
only to relish the fact
that our pursuit
was not in vain.
And of the sin,
that has morally consumed us,
forcing us to burn Your word,
and yet the world will see,
the shining star,
that you present every night.
What then will they believe?
To destroy these faithful artifacts?
or to treasure God's grace.
Reed
as i said, not very good, but at least i have made a point that without art, we would be nothing. it seems that the world today is trying to destroy our art (well at least the kids around me, and my parents)... oh well, i hope you find strength in this very long comment that took oddles of time.
