Major ball suckage. I've been really sick for almost 2 weeks now O_o Have hardly been to school and out with friends for almost two weeks in a row =( The doctor gave me some medicine that was ment to make me better, but it fucked up and had a reaction to my body; and as a result I got way more sick. I mean FFS I was sick on my birthday and didn't do anything =,( (although I did get a fucking awesome Boss GT8 effects pedal). Not doing anything, hardly seeing anyone, and not being able to go out and have a ride on my skateboard have been killing me.
Have only had about 10 hours sleep the
whole week because of the pains. So if you can't tell, I look and feel like absolute shit. The toilet must hate me too, I've been in there at least 10 + times a day, but enough of that shit
(figured I've never used a pun in my journal before) the point to this journal entry is that i've been doing
a lot more art than I usually do because I'm at home and not busy, and working on art actually does take my mind off the pain.
I've worked on the Halo 2 flash, had a heap of ideas for other flashes, and have been working on a "detailed" MGS4 pic. What that means is, I had been messing around with the trial of Coral Painter XI, made something I thought looked cool, didn't know how to use the program, so I saved what I had done, imported it into Photoshop, worked on it there, then saved what I did, imported it into Flash, made vector stuff for the pic, saved what I did, then imported it back into Photoshop and am finishing it off.
Yep, I'm an idiot. I've easily spent 5-6 hours so far on this
one freakin' picture, and it looks really simple. I could have probably whipped something up using Flash in about an hour
. Although I do like the coloring, and I couldn't have done anything near that good in Flash. What I really hate about it though is that because I saved what I did so many times as a jpeg image, the quality has gone down the shitter.
I will submit it here as soon as i'm done with it; which will
probably be tonight. The
main reason why I made it though was for it to hopefully be put in a
PS2 Magazine here in Aussie land. I doubt it will get in, but its worth a shot.
Flash stuff- Working on the Halo 2 flash has taught me one thing; I don't like Halo 2 that much. Although I really wanted to fix up the last Halo flash I made; I couldn't because the .fla file was messed up. I was, and still am, waiting on voices for my other flash which I have been working on for about 2 years (4 if you include planning stages and a different medium) so I, being the Captain. Dipshit I am, chose to re-make the Halo flash from scratch, as well as new stuff in it as a small project until the voices came in.
I'm not really interested in Halo 2 anymore, and as a result, havn't been working on the flash in what spare time I usually get; but the voice actors (still need some other voices though readers!) did a fantastic job; and I don't want to abandon the flash because of that, and also I have spent a long time on it.
I bet that it probably won't be released until next year, which by that time the X-Box 360 would have been out for a while, and Halo 3 would more than likely be announced/ near completion, which will ultimately make the flash frowned upon by many. However, I am making the scenes to the best (well not best-due to getting it done a.s.a.p) of my ability. I will need to start paying less attention to detail (I spent ages getting the X-Box startup and Halo 2 start up near spot on) so that I can get it out as soon as I can.
Btw, if you are a flash artist and have a tablet; USE IT AS MUCH AS YOU CAN. For a few months I stopped using it and opted for a mouse instead (because my cursor acts like a kid hyped up on red cordial when I plug the tablet in), and now when I want to go back to doing some FBF stuff, it looks like o_O
