"Everything I have done in my life, all of the decisions I've made, all of the sins I have committed have been for one purpose: to take my father's position and become God." -Hazat

---------------------------------

Hazat is one of the sons of the Angel of Light, Itonami who in my eventual web-comic is the being we refer to as God or what have you in any religion. Hazat's goal is to be his father's successor. He's not a bad guy, just misguided in some aspects. He has a sense of morality and repents for the things he has done. He only want's what's best for Heaven and the other realms he would be watching over. His only competition for the succession is Curare, the leader of Heaven's Special Task Force: The Angels of Wrath.

Hazat's bird is Amir, a Lesser Bird of Paradise. Hazat himself can transform into a Huma, which is THE bird of paradise. Hazat's element is lightning and he carries around a rather large rifle called the Arc Rifle of Arc Wielder.

About the piece: This thing survived me spilling brush cleaner on it (which can take plastic laquer off paint brushes) and beer which my father accidentally spilled on it. I was able to cover up the spills rather nicely and I think this is one of my best pieces yet. Lots of work went into it. As usual Copic Markers were used along with some extensive photoshop touch up since my scanner killed the details in his hair. >-<

Enjoy.

Update: Thanks for the front page!

I have no words to describe how awesome this piece is. Your efforts of preserving it are commendable, and seamless! That gnarly stuff on his hand gives me the jibblies... It's very well rendered.

The gold was a good call, by the way.

Now this is a gorgous piece! I wish I had half that talent for coloring in marker! I am glad that this picture survived its trial by liquids! The detail is astounding! I absolutely love the way you handled Hazat's hair the subtle shift in color within the tips is just gorgously rendered. Spectacular job with the subtle details in what looks like scaring in the back of his hand, the visual weight of the highlights and shadows makes it look very realistic and adds such a wonderful contrast to his seemingly otherwise flawless skin. I really like Amir as well, you really captured the texture of feathers well. I really like how you show just the detail in the wing tip that is visible it adds a nice contrast as well as pushes the visual space of the composition well.

The way you handled the swords in the background as well as his rings and other bits of jewelry, nice sense of depth for the shiny metallic, which gives a nice textural contrast for the image. I think that this is a wonderful piece, full of depth and detail as well as a lovely composition. I truly enjoyed the background you gave for Hazat.
