This was an assignemnt for an illustration class. We were to ilustrate an Apache legend in which the Coyote gets what he imagines to be the ingenious idea to cook his corn before planting it so that it would grow already cooked, and he wouldn't have to waste his time cooking it later. Obviously his corn doesn't grow, and this drawing is more or less the moment of realization.
Obviously this is a deviation from my usual style. The assignment required that we incorporate some culturally authentic elements, and thus stylize the piece some.

Ohhh, this is gorgeous...not just the patterns, but the liberties you take with the proportions of Coyote are so evocative of Native American drawings it's wonderful!

BTW, if tomorrow those four free-sketch slots aren't taken by new people, I might end up requesting one again, but I'm going to give it one more night first. Heck, maybe this'll prompt some new people to take a look in hopes of getting the goodies...
