Yep, just read through the first quarter of the Book of the Long Sun and thought I'd do this because it's funny how hard-to-follow the plot is. It's a good book though, so if you haven't, you should go read it.

I've done that once. I didn't talk quite that high-pitched and fast, but I did a book summary up until where I'd read so far. When I was in 12th grade, when I still had required-reading-time in every class period, I was reading Angels & Demons (the book that Dan Brown wrote after DaVinci Code where the story actually precedes DaVinci Code...). In my English class one day, the teacher was randomly picking people to describe what book they were reading. And she went around the room (this took a good half hour, because people were reluctant) aimlessly until she picked me, and all the while, I'd been reading, lost in this little world and ignoring everyone else until I heard my name called. She asked me what I was reading, and then asked me to tell everyone about it. I was only on about page 110-140, something like that... but somehow, I managed to talk for 20, 25 minutes. And everyone in the class was staring in awe, because I -never- speak. Ever. So suddenly I was talking loudly and excitedly for such a long time, because it was an awesome book to read, with a lot of intricacies that I wanted to share. There wasn't a single detail that I left out. And I got stared at for a long time afterward.
I don't know why I just shared that little anecdote, but you reminded me of it. :)
