You wander lost through a forest, heading toward the light of a campfire. Arriving there, you are surprised to find a group of ostriches dancing around it. The ritual is clearly a serious one, and they probably wouldn't be too happy to see you watching, if they haven't already....

A drawing for an illustration class. The assignment was a compositional challenge - draw an ostrich or giraffe in this extremely horizontal format. I wanted to sort of anthropomorphise the ostriches, but also I had the idea of making them kind of threatening - thus the priest-ostrich in the rearmost part of the circle glaring at the viewer.
The ostriches, of course, are not supposed to be physically anthropomorphic, just their behavior.

Please have a look at this in full view - that little preview is useless.

I was looking on front page thinking should I look at this should I not.

Obviously in the end I did and I wasn't disappointed, it looks absolutely amazing.
I love work like this.

This is absolutely gorgeous...I love the shading, it's so amazing to see art of such fine quality made with a pen.

Very cool and chilling...I imagine this being set to Stravinsky's Rite of Spring.
