An image done for Dwelian on DA ...Frankly it's over due. It was for one of my contests. Anyway. What Dwelian wished to see was a character from "FireBringer Trilogy" drawn - a character named Aljan.
She told me some details about the character. I've not yet read anything about the book so I basically drew him with limited details I understood. Never the less, I had thought about not coloring this until I had my better program (something other than Photoshop Elements 1 - Demo version). Ah well. But I plugged through it and did it anyway.
There are elements I like about the piece, and other things I'm well aware need improving. What matters in the end is if Dwelian likes this.

I'm not familiar with the work that this is supposed to be based off of...but I love unicorns, therefore it's autmatically something I love. I thik you did a fantastic job.

Beautiful, as always. I love that painted look I just haven't been able to acquire yet, or so it seems with most of my paintings. I love the hair on the tail and the clear sharpness of the tree, etc. I would think of the scene having a little more blue/highlights, but that's just me. Kudos!

I love that book, always have and always will. Though I still think the red coat he originally had suits him better, with his fiery nature and all. This doesn't look like my idea of him, but still a nice picture. I especially love that long tail of his, so silky looking.

I know nothing of the character but I can say one thing, that this picture looks very beautiful!
The colors have nice lifelike/magical feel to it and it looks amazing!!

Something that bugs me is that the shadow is on the unicorn and the moon, being the brightest light...isn't in the right place for where the shadow is. I don't know. I didn't read your description or anyone else's comments so you might have heard that a few times. *shrugs* Cool.
