Every time I watch that scene, I'm caught somewhere between laughing hysterically or a shocked silence.
Link's ears remind me of a cat's--the way they're down and back, that is. It adds to his shocked-and-disturbed appearance.
Or maybe it's his huge bug-out eyes. Yes, it's gotta be the eyes...
