The three page Lackadaisy introduction. I drew until it hurt. For those not familiar with the Prohibition era in the US, the story is mostly about bootleggers running a St. Louis speakeasy. Subsequent pages can be found at lackadaisycats.com
Amazing, I love your brown & white choice in colours since it does give that the authentic 'older' look. The overall quality of this also easily rivials if not surpasses comic book quality and overall it leaves me looking on for more!
Wow! It's interesting AND well-drawn, which seems to be sadly rare in comics- they're either one or the other. I really enjoy the sepia-toned look of the whole thing- it sets the mood well. Your character designs are excellent, too- they fir the era. Also, you do a wonderful job with manmade structures- trains, buildings, etc. Something I need work on badly, lol. This certainly met its goal- I'm think I'm gonna check out that website. ^^
It's a wonderful introduction. It quickly covers the era and gives enough background so we know what's going on but is concise enough not to bore us to tears. Great job! ^^
Wow...seriously, I would have ADORED this as a child, just as much as I do now. I loved history even then, and I liked comics that I felt didn't talk down to kids. There was a comic in the newspaper in Washington, D.C. that I loved called "Flashbacks," that each week did a story about a building or event in the area that I just ate up. In some ways this reminds me of it, except with more of an ongoing story (and a little more artistic license!).
I hope you DO get national syndication with this. Is that a goal of yours?
