Chapter 2:

Tioga turns to Spirit and looks at her thankfully, "Thank you, you saved my life." Spirit says in return, "It was the least I could do for a pack with such a brave leader." The two wolves nodded to each other and the pack members began talking. Topaz walks over to Crimson and sits down next to him. Alcoum, sitting on the other side of Crimson, looks around the back of his pack mate and stares at Topaz. Crimson leans back to block Alcoum's view and Alcoum gives Crimson a dirty look. Crimson and Topaz look at each other and smile.

Spirit walks over alone to sit next to a waterfall. Kiavan looks over and sees her sitting alone. A thinking expression crossed Kiavan's face, and he walked over to Spirit, "Is this seat taken?" He asked her. A look of confusion crossed her face, "What?" Kiavan shook his head slowly, "Never mind." and he sat down next her. Spirit then put her ears back as though something was bothering her. Kiavan noticed this and asked her, "You Okay?" Spirit then replied saying, "My pack will most likely not make it though the next winter. The pack is too small." Kiavan looks over his shoulder to his and Spirit's pack. "Well, It looks like our pack get along pretty well." He saw that Topaz was leaning up against Crimson. He looked back a Spirit. "I think that we could spare some room for you and your pack."
"That's very kind of you, but I wouldn't want to put you and your pack in a disposition." She then looks at him sternly and says, "Besides, It's not even YOUR pack."
"Well I am the Beta, and Tioga likes you, So.... stay." Spirit is about to argue when Tioga interrupts. "Spirit!" Spirit looks over her shoulder to see Tioga loping in their direction. "I can see that your pack is small. Why don't you join us?" Spirit smiles and says, "How can I refuse such a request for the Alpha Female?" Tioga smiles back and howls.

The two packs now joined as one, begins settling down to sleep, for what was left of the night. Spirit walked over next to a large rock and curled up alone.

The next day, Spirit awoke to the sun shining in her eyes. She yawned and stretched her stiff muscles. She looked over the newly formed pack as they slept. She saw the Kiavan was not with them, and she looked around for him. Spirit sniffed the air and ground searching for his sent, she found it and a smile spread across her face as she ran following Kiavan's sent.

Spirit about to round a corner when Kiavan's sent changed. It's seemed different somehow, she rounds the corner and sees a human with messy black hair. Spirit puts her ears back fearfully and slowly back away. The human hears her and turns around, slowly. Spirit continued to back up until she looked right in to the humans eyes. 'Kiavan?' she thought. Spirit shook her head and growled, as the human slowly walked toward her. "Stay back!" she growled knowing even though humans could not understand the wolf language. Though the moment she said that he stopped, as though he understood her. "Spirit, it's me." He pointed to himself, "Kiavan."
Spirit slowly started to walk toward him to sniff his boots. The human didn't move at all. "You don't smell like Kiavan."
"Let me show you then." He closed his eyes and concentrated, shortly after a bright light began to emit from him as he slowly changed his form, from Human to Dire Wolf. Spirit slowly backs away, not from fear but confusion. She then turns and runs back to the pack. "Spirit!" Kiavan called out to her, "Wait!" and ran after her.

Kiavan reached the pack as Spirit was informing Tioga about what she saw. Tioga saw Kiavan, Told him to come closer. He sulkily walked over to her, “Kiavan? Is this true?” Kiavan hung his head,
"Yes, it is."
"Follow me, Kiavan and let's talk," Kiavan followed Tioga deep in to the forest, and she stopped when they reach a large clearing.
"This is were we met, when you would not tell me your name."
"I remember."
"How is it that you can change from a wolf to a human?" Kiavan put his ears back and dropped his head. "I suppose that's something I should have explained to you." Tioga nodded, "I am willing to listen to you."
"It's was a long time ago, and that chapter of my life has been closed, but if I must tell you, then I will."
Kiavan took in a deep breath and started his story.

"Let me start form the beginning. My team and I had just arrived on a planet that we, the Atlantis Expedition Team, call A7C- 909. My team was made up of three people, other than me: Rodney McKay, Teyla Emmagan, and Ronan Dex. I walked up to the DHD and stopped. "Doesn't seem to much here." I told my team over my shoulder. McKay stopped next to me, scanner in hand, "Nothing on the scanner either."
"Think we should have brought a Jumper?" I asked him. He looked at me, but never answered. I continued walking into the grassland.

After three hours a walking, nothing of any interest had shown on the scanner, or in sight. The grassland soon met up with the tree line. I scanned the area though my sunglasses, and spotted a building peeking over the trees. "Whoa, hold on." McKay said quickly, "Energy reading on my scanner just spiked!"
"Where's it coming from?" Ronan asked,
"From over,"
"No!," I interrupted Rodney, "Let me guess." I pointed over toward the building I saw, "That way."
"Yes."
"Well, then. Let's go investigate." I began walking in the direction of the building.

We had just gotten to the building. It wasn't very big, but it looked like it hadn't been touched in over ten years. We were walking, trying to identify the source of the energy spike. I felt a sting at the back of my neck, and pulled something off it. A dart. I looked toward my team to see that they were all, slowly, sinking to the ground. I blacked out."

Tioga watched him as he told his story. "When I came to, I was strapped to a table in some sort of lab. I don't remember much after that." Kiavan dropped his head and put his ears back sadly. Tioga thought for a moment. vI'm sorry to hear what happened to you."
"No problem, I've gotten over it."
"We should get back, it's almost time for the hunt."
