I finally have one character completed~! Now I only have 4 to go!
This took a very long time. I finished the coloring on this thing just this morning; I started out with the skin and eyes done and the flat base colors on the cape. I colored the rest in about 5 hours. It was my third time redoing the hair, and the cape took much longer than I wanted. I'm still not too satisfied with the cape, but it will have to do.
This is Shakai, a character that's going to be featured on one big piece of cover art. His hair is supposed to resemble fire, and it's a bit longer than on the sprite, but hey--artists' renditions are usually a little different than tiny, tiny pixel work. This guy is for Rasmot's sprite comic. He asked me to make the poster for it, so I'm doing the best job I can possibly do! Why go to such great lengths for a sprite comic cover? To test mah skillzorz!
(And learn new ones...n stuff like that.) I'm really proud of this piece because I finally learned (somewhat) how to color hair just the way I do it with colored pencils. Tablets are heaven-sent, I tell you!
To Shakai: I know the colors aren't what we talked about, but look! They're so pretty! :< Plus, changing the hair to a darker shade of red isn't easy. I hope this will work! (

It really looks awesome, Mith. Drawing and colouring the hair as flames is a good point. :) The shading looks fantastic as well. I'm looking forward to seeing the whole cover complete.
