This is an older image, one that I made in response to a novel written by a friend of mine called Alice Ever Falling, a story with the classic Alice in Wonderland as a continuous underlying theme.
It was an experiment in lineart, first and foremost...I wanted to see if I could replicate, in part, DaVinci's Vitruvian Man. This meant getting everything very symmetrical, something I've never been good at.
The text around the image is all inspired by the novel, and by the visuals on the website(now defunct) that I first came across the work. The text is also mirrored, much in the same way that DaVinci wrote in his journals. Have funtrying to read it, if you want. It's been so long since I made this picture that I don't remember what it all says, and I discovered that it's very difficult to make it out(at least for me).

I think my favorite part about this picture is the huge Cheshire Cat grin in the background.
