A painting I did on packing paper for my major project at college. I have to do a portrait of my favourite person from history, which is ofcourse Joseph Merrick 'The Elephant Man'. This is from the movie I didn't design it It's taken from one of my large worksheets so the quality isn't so good.
Oh and this isn't the final piece, it's just for my research, for my final one I will not use anything to offend Merrick's condition, I want to give him more dignity, so people will know him as Joseph Merrick, not the Elephant Man. At college I don't call him the elephant man, I use is real name, but it is sometimes hard when you have to call him my his more well known title. Not many people have heard of his actual name. O.k I'm gonna stop ranting.

Well this still looks really good. Ahh I know how sad that is that people more know him by his "nickname" given to him because of his condition. ]: I will say I am one of the people that knows his real name. I found it when I was doing some research on him a while ago.. I think I saw a video or something and he was in it. . err. it was a long time ago. But yeah. Good luck on your project! :3
