a resubmission of my elder reaper drawing , i tried putting a 20% transparanted yellow slide on the drawing while scanning and it helped me gain some more shadows ,i hope to improve that but for now it will do.
well ehm.. a little bit about this piece , I was originally meant to draw gambit but after a few attempts (very bad ones ) to do a nice looking face i dropped the idea. I'm a little bit pissed i couldnt make it (dont worry i'll do it eventually) and that i am still having trouble with my very first art type (originally came from the pencil drawing section , only recently proclaimed animator for a title) but i guess it shows how long i havent been doing this , must practice the old art so i wont do a carrear convertion but just add another one to my skill list.
used my graphic pencils set took me about 8 hours (8 hours and 5 minuts with an hour and a half break in between due to dog's do) to do the whole thing, most of the time on sketching , this is easily the longest time i've ever been working on a single drawing and when i finally raised my head from the paper i got into tunnel vision mode for about half an hour (i'm not kidding , i couldnt read the sign accross the street
, glad this is over by now , hopefully its a normal thing for guys who take a good long look at something from 10 cm long for 8 hours and that i'm not actually loosing my eye sight.
while i'm on the subject of loosing stuff ,I STILL LOST GREAT AMOUNT OF SHADOWS and the whole incense smoke thing which is now just random dots (the smoke was completly reconstracted in photoshop and not matching the original one).
this is getting annoying because i know i must do copies of the original thing in digital format for days to come in case i'll loose the original drawing (Get that a lot).
anyhow , here's the deal about the character and i'll try and keep it short because damn 8 hours drawing can mess up your hand and wrist:
This is an ender reaper , those guys are so old and powerful do to age they no longer need to deal with soul collecting , they are majorly acting as surcerers and even when they have to fight they wont use their scyth (hance the branch growing along the scyth). elder reapers are hermits and leave in the most unknown parts of the world none to mankind nore to the great reapers who are still active as soul collectors. they practice most of their time training the art of surcery and known as highly dangarus both to men as well as for younger reapers ,some elder reapers are chosen to lead younger reapers as they are transforming into a higher level of reaper being after the first and third century of soul collecting service. there are rummers on elder reapers reforming together using an aciant spell into the most powerful being ever exsisted, coming very close to the power of god himself - the ultra reaper.
