Phew, gunna be a long list of descriptions here. :) Quick character heads..
Mavunde - Member of the Kaare. He has mastery over birds and owns an aviary close to the palace gardens. He mainly uses them to help spy for the Kaare, casting them forward to gather information. He also has made some makeshift wings for himself so that, while he can't fly, he can glide and jump off of tall ledges.
Duncan Moire' - The Moire' father and husband and founder of the Dark Arts school. Tattoo's will probably change as I go and fix him up. But the purpose of the tattoos is a bit... weird. :) In my head (story), woman are more in tune with dark magic and men, light. So with dark magic, while the men can touch it, they need ways to channel it through their body. There was an ancient method of scarring/tattooing ones self so that the pain would help focus their dark energies. The tattoos are applied in swirls and waves to coax the magic to course through the body and to concentrate it in certain areas. Sometimes even words and runes are tatted in. :) The more experienced you are, the less tattoo's you need. Rather, they begin to heal and go away. However, few can achieve this.
Even Duncan hasn't mastered it completely, though he is quite powerful and adept in the ways of dark magic. He has a thirst for knowledge and has studied it inside out since birth, mainly because it has been passed down through this family and certain other families. Other dark magics exist, but none so accurate or precise as Duncan's way. That's why he formed the school. He's the father of the all the Moire' siblings, and husband to the mother. Name to come soon.
Emrie Moire' - The middle brother, he's somewhat arrogant and fancies himself a pretty boy. A lot of the girls like him (of course) so he's developed quite the ego. He's not too strong in dark magic and tends to slack. Probably why he focuses on the only think he seems good at.
Ju'Gung - Member of the Kaare, and acts as the Kaare Sha'man. He's strong in magic and practices it in his own way, one shunned by normal society, however welcomed in the Kaare. He converses with the dead constantly, being able to see them. This also grants him the ability to see demons and angels, in their true form, a very rare gift. He gives Shaka and the rest of the Kaare advice and deals with poisons and such.
Stry Dyson - A mercenary working for the Kaare. He earned a place among their ranks after helping a few of them in battle with certain rivals. Since he showed strong prowess in battle, he wasn't scarred and simply let into the Kaare as an honoured hero. He's in his middle ages and carries a huge sword. He's rather big himself, but no one knows where he came from.
Lucas Moire' - The youngest brother and also a nerd like his older sister, Dee. He spends time with her and enjoys learning in her classes. he's especially close to her because she once saved his life. He's a good student and learns quickly, yet lacks a bit of confidence with his powers.
Manuel Moire' - The oldest brother, and also the strongest of the siblings. And he definatly knows it. He's very strong, so strong that he may rival his father someday, yet while he's arrogant, he keeps his family close to him. He cares deeply for them, and no one really knows where these strong feelings come from. Bit of a secret here!
Ufasiki - Ufasiki is © Kris Jacque. Since I redrew the Kaare (slowly) as humans, I decided to draw her character as a human. Dunno, but hey, here you go, Kris.
He looks kinda neat. He and Shaka are good friends and always hunt and fight together. They protect each other in battle and consider each other equal. Ufasiki's a very adept fighter, and carries the mark of the Kaare well. More back story if I can figure out more, but wouldn't mind some help sometimes. (psst, Kris!
