This is a "finding" - I covered the page in green watercolour then, using graphite, picked out the irregularities of colour and tone to find a picture. I have a purple washed slice of paper awaiting similar attention. I won't know until it is done whether it relates to this piece or not.
It's been a looong time since I've come across a finding of this calibur, no pun intended. And I've never even seen another on Sheezy. I really don't know how to express how cool it is. Just go have a look!
what a perfect way to plan a painting! I find myself doing that with patterns and wood- looking at them and finding a picture, but I've never thought about washing the paper and then drawing whatever came out. a-mazing! and beautiful!
