the subject matter for this is very tramatic and almost haunting.
I got to go to the SFMOMA the other day(sanfransisco museum of modern art)
there was a featured gallery in there of Wangechi Mutu's works. Among those..she had set up one room with three chairs on stilts..above were hanging bottles of wine...the chairs were clean, but on the floor there was wine splatterd every where. (something like this..could not find photo's of the chairs
the story behind her art is very traumatic to read..
any how..this is my own interpretation of it.
i may do more stilt stuff later...maybe.
There was also one of Dali's pieces there, so i got some idea's.

I went to the SFMOMA two months ago. All my friends were talking about the dripping wine exibit and I missed it since I didn't know there was an up stairs. After seeing this pic it makes me want to see the exibit even more. THe horse looks so sad and scary.
Minstrel Ayreon Says:
That IS very sad, I agree.
You also seem to have an influence from Salvador Dali in your works...would you say that's true?
badkittyamy Says:
this is beatiful great imagery and application
Jaxxy Says:
Reminds me of something from Salvador Dali...only a bit more gory and less twisted.

Wow, poor horse. This has to be one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen.

I love it! Originally I saw that one of your new pieces that I commented on previously was featured on the front page, and I went to your profile and saw this piece featured and it made me think of Dali and his elephants, which of course once reading the description made a lot of sense. I love the interpretation that you did and I'm rather curious to read about the story behind it all myself and to see the original work that you saw. You are very talented.

i thought this looked familiar. i didn't know anything about the original but i'm pretty sure i've seen it. anywho, i love it

Amazing work!!!
Art Speaks To Me Says:
That really reminds me of Tim Burton's artwork from "The Nightmare Before Christmas". Great expression, it feels to me like the horse is in so much torture, but he's using every last ounce of his strength to stay standing and the wine reminded me more of blood, but because the horse is skin and bones, it's like the horse is in the desert on these weird legs, and he cannot quench his thirst, so he continues on.
