I decided to submit my cloud tutorial here. It's for users of Photoshop, but many programs are similar, as long as they have the ability to adjust opacity, I think you'd be okay.
Awsome tutorial! I'm impatent with a mouse and I can't use pressure sensitivity with my current tablet.. (Well, not without pratically breaking my wrist that is) but I'll try it out with gimp when I either grow more patient or get a tablet. *nod*
