Curly and Ducky

Curly and Ducky, two mallard ducks, at the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia. I volunteered there for three years before I moved to Arkansas.

Curly is the male and Ducky is the female. They were quite a pair and went everywhere together but never had any ducklings. In this picture they're about to go into the little swimming pool that is in the middle of the mammal room. (Yeah, the ducks and the parrots live in the mammal room, the bird room is reserved for birds of prey so the non-birds of prey don't get hurt.)
