Even Though

Even though at times
It's as if she doesn't know
I exist
I have feelings and opinions

Even though I often wonder why
She acts the way she does or,
Disciplines me for no good reason
As far as I can see

Even though no matter
How loud I scream
I won't get what I want
Once she's made up her mind

Even though she says
"It's for your own good"
I don't see what good it is
That she is talking about

Even though we have
Those heated arguments
When we're screaming at
The top of our lungs
And I'm usually wrong

Even though we've been through
So many negative times and
Hardships
She's always been there for me
And for that I love her.

Yeah.. in 7th Grade, we had to write a poem that we'd want our children to write about us.. most people wrote poems like "My mom/dad is the best!" But what's the chance of that happening? I tried to make mine a little more realistic.. so.. this was the result.
