Okweis, a young red fox at the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia. I volunteered there for three years before I moved to Arkansas.

Okweis was rescued as a baby by an older woman after a flood washed out her den and killed the rest of her litter. After nursing the baby fox back to healthy, the woman gave her to the Academy because the young fox was too much for her to handle (Okweis was too hyper and bouncy). Okweis cannot be released because she is too tame and wouldn't survive in the wild. She's a real sweetie and loves to go for walks around the museum after-hours, play fetch with her stuffed toys, and get lots of scritches and love.

Here she is sitting and looking at something behind me. And I promise - she DOES have ears, they're just folded back.

awww..........what a sad backstory.......her personality reminds me of my American Eskimo....I'd adopt her if it was legal in my state ^^;
