He reminds me a bit of a gargoyle. Anyhow, I like this. Because of the linework, composition, and the really spiffy mottling you do to make things seem- ropey. I can't think of a better word? Wrinkley? anyhow- I like it.
You're a master at imbuing some sort of natural technology into wonderful creatures. I can imagine how cheerful your friend must be after seeing this. :)
