yay I colored him, and not only that but I sent him into nintendo like some had suggested. I got an email back today and this is what it said:

Artists' work will be out there for all site visitors to see, not just Nintendo Power readers. While the majority of artwork will be seen online, Nintendo Power magazine may still periodically run an artists gallery of quality art in the magazine based off of artwork we continue to receive through the mail.
