Commission Piece: Dark Heart

This is a character portrait commission for a friend of mine. This character he's designed for a Big Eyes, Small Mouth game. He only gave me sketchy details about the character in that he received a near-fatal wound in battle many years ago. The magimedics on the scene were able to save him by implanting him with this orb in place of his heart. The scarring around that is like alchemy arrays and sustains the heartorb as well as distributes his energy throughout his body.

Having survived all that, he's now become a very powerful Sorceror. His eyepatch there is equipped to detect magic and I imagine he works for some organization or another.

Having received no other information than him being impressive and muscular, I gave him a noble sort of edge and a slightly older appearance to suggest he's experienced as well as strong.

I don't often draw hugely muscular guys, so I'm sorry if that seems awkward. Fear those big, gorilla arms ^^ To contrast the complexity of the scarring over his body, I gave him rather simple clothing. My friend was sure to stress that his chest would be bare so that heart-orb was exposed. I suppose under clothing it'd look like some bad implant or something :3

Anyway, just a little something different to share with you guys.
