The Garbonzo character is a dancer-warrior, cunning and whimsical, and a trickster to say the least.
This is a partially-furred costume. The non-furred areas are hand-painted. The fur fiber was hand set onto the fabric (not faux fur fabric).
This is a theatrically stylized costume, so realistic elements such as paws were replaced by ballet shoes and simple clawed gloves.

Interesting...in a lot of ways, he seems to have a Native American design. Is he derived from Native American legends?

The face, the headdress, the fur. Ahh, you make me want to take up sewing.
Magnificent, truly.
