thats one big puppy/dragon.. I love the wings, the shading and everything just looks beautiful.. And may i ask... what made you think to sketch it with a yellow marker as thats gotta be an intresting story or just sper of the moment?
On the line of using something other than a marker. You could use a regular pencil, but just sharpen it with a razor blade or knife so you keep the thick, round tip. Also there's charcoal (and charcoal pencils) that have any variety of tip widths. Vine or willow charcoal is great as well and erases VERY easily and sometimes can even just be wiped out with a cloth.
