"Run" Part One

The clouds were faded into a dusk gray
the sun subliminal to sight.
The rain
as if dark showers
drench the city in its cold sweat.
Into the city
amdist passing vehicles and buses
stood an individual sheltering
from the harsh rains beneather the porch,
with a look of dismay
his eyes downcast
and a bundle of bright yellow flowers enveloping his dispirited hand
in such a dark, gray world.
It were as if he were in a trance
expecting the worst,
awaiting persecution.
The rain, as it were meant to be soothing
was instead rather, tormenting.
It signaled the end.
The stress.
Disappointment.
Why, he wondered.
Why does he stand here
in the grim rain
for someone he feels has meaning
yet at the same time
has no worth?
The rims of his eyelids melt,
as he could feel himself slowly drowning
in this world he called, "home."
He needed something.
Something to keep him going.
Something that could give him self-worth.
"She" had a name.
But, if only he knew it...
