Of Wolf and Man

So here's one of Shade and, well, Shade - showing him in both his near-human form and in all his undead lycanthrope-y goodness.

His greatest fear (well, one of his fears since he has a lot on his mind, poor guy) is when the silver moon Isel is full his wereform will hurt, perhaps even kill his friends for more than once he has woken after a full moon with human blood on his hands and no idea whence it came.

On Tymaera lycanthropy is a curse and when transformed lycanthropes, especially those of purer blood, are little more than bloodthirsty beasts. Not to be confused with werebeasts/folk (even though the names are similar) who maintain full control of their human faculties when transformed and can chage at will.
