"Why did you drag me here? This is ridiculous." Evilinnocence whined. After hearing several tips from various people they met in their travels, they had somehow been led to a Ravehouse deep underground in one of the big cities. There they were to find a hybrid named 'Orbit', who was an unlikely cross between a rabbit and a lion and was said to have special powers. He was also said to have special information regarding the Soreans, but considering the stories they heard involved him being able to send electric shocks from his hands and tails, the whole thing seemed highly unlikely.
"You know, we've come a long way and we've been through a lot, so even if this whole thing turns out to be a bunch of bullshit, we can at least take a break and have a bit of fun for a night, right?" Black Crystle said. They hardly had enough money to get in, but Evil and BC were able to persuade the bouncer to let them in on good looks alone. Once they were in, they were welcomed by pounding bass speakers, the heat of a thousand moving, sweating bodies, and a light show that was sure to send them into seisures. BC's eyes lit up instantly at the scene, and she bounded down the steps toward the crowd, eager to join the masses and show off her dancing skills.
"BC! Wait!" Evil called to her. BC stopped dead in her tracks and reluctantly turned around.
"What the hell do you want? There's NOTHING to fucking worry about here, for once!" she yelled back.
"Yeah I know, but look at everyone! I'm totally out of place here!" Evil was still wearing her long, dark grey coat with the red feather cuffs. Most everyone else there was hardly wearing anything at all.
BC rolled her eyes, then looked around. She found three stray glow sticks on the floor and wrapped them around Evil's tail. As soon as she was done she darted off again and was lost in the scene instantly.
"Great," Evil groaned. "I fit in perfectly." She stood idly by herself for quite some time, glancing around the room with disinterest and uncertainty. Finally she sighed and stepped toward the crowd. "I might as well try to find this Orbit guy since everyone else is off partying," she thought.
It was nearly impossible to move through the crowd as there were so many people completely oblivious to one another. Evil's patience was beginning to wear thin just as she came to a thick circle of people surrounding another in the middle. She tried to push her way through, but the people forming the wall that blocked her were so intent on watching the spectacle within they hardly budged. Evil could stand it no longer and clawed her way through. Those she had scratched became furious and slowly approached her, snarling and ready to fight. Evil grinned, ready to see some action, until she felt a tug on her arm that pulled her into the middle of the circle.
"I don't think I've seen you around here before!" Evil whirled around to find the owner of the voice. Looking up she saw a tall, blue-furred anthro with white hair that had black tips. His handsome face was lion-like, but when she looked down she noticed he had huge feet with giant paws like a rabbit. She looked behind him and-- three tails??? He was only wearing a pair of blue shorts and she was able to see he had an amazingly strong build.
Evil was speechless.
Orbit pulled her in close under his arm. "So, what brings a pretty little fox like you to a place like this?" he smiled.
Evil lost her adoration instantly. "I'm a wolf."
"Wolf, fox, same difference." he laughed. "But one thing's for sure, of all the canids I've been with, you wolves are definitely the best in bed!"
Evil was now thuroughly disgusted. "Sorry, bud, I gotta go. I'm looking for someone important." She squirmed free of his grasp and began to walk off.
The rabbit-lion pulled her back again. "Hey! I'm someone important, watch this!" He extended his right arm and twitched his fingers around until suddenly a burst of bluish-green sparks burst forth from his hand. He gained control over the sparks and produced a glowing orb. The crowd drew in closer again, cheering and clapping.
"Nice try." Evil sighed, squirming away again. "But I'm unimpressed. I told you I was looking for someone important, now if you'd excuse me..." She began to push her way through the crowd again.
The blue-fur was shocked [no pun intended har har] that his trick didn't work. "Well who are you looking for?" He yelled.
Evil turned around. "His name's Orbit, and the description we got of him says he makes huge electric bolts from his body, not dinky little spark gimmicks like yours. I'm sure you've got some secret device attached to your arm or something."
Just as she turned around again, a bright, white light illuminated the entire dance floor in front of her. She whipped around and saw the blur-fur completely electrified, with different orbs and sparks shooting out from his hands and tails.
He stopped the electicity, and said, "If you're looking for Orbit, then you're looking for me."
For those of you who watch me, you've prolly seen me working on this on and off in different stages. Well now at last is the final product (at least, until myself someone else points out a problem I didn't see and I have to go back and edit it)! I'm really quite pleased with how it came out, though I still think I could've done some things better. This was entirely a learning project aimed at:
- learning glow effects
- learning lights and lighting effects
- creating realistic smoke and fog
- coloring the fog as it would look under colored lights
- drawing two or more characters interacting in a scene.
- making a complete background
I learned A LOT in doing this project, so if you have any questions as to how anything on here was done, don't hesitate to ask!

This is absolutely brilliant! The electicity looks very convincing, and the shading is absolutely masterful to say the least. The work done on the background characters is breathtaking. The clouds look like those one would really find in a rave. The atmosphere of the picture is outstanding as is the focal point in the center. I'm very impressed.

HiddenStash Says:
Well damn.
Now I see what I miss when I don't watch you. :(
The story is just as nice as the picture, and the picture turned out quite well indeed - the lighting is superb, and the electricity ball is cool, but my favorite part out of this whole pic has to be Orbits eye.
I would kill to be able to that.
Bask in the abmiance Dana, because this is one of the rare times I feel the need to gush over a piece of art.
