Zuni fetishes are tiny carvings of stone, clay or wood that are believed to house the spirit of a particular animal. If their owner takes care of their fetish and treats it with respect, it will in turn take care of them, aiding in protection and their animal medicine. The "heartline", arrow from their nose to their heart, represents their essence, and the bundle on their back is an offering to the gods. :)
