I know, Mucha was Czech, not Itallian. I wanted the title in italian.

Full description and detail shots to come in a journal entry later. I'll link it to here, and vice versa... I'm running really late and I need to get going. :(

Oh...

and...

I lose at life. *points to her art*

--full description--

I wanted to create a goddess. Something that would represent me. Ebon and Mievzar, my charachters, are me. Miev is my soul. He is the true me. The wise me. The melancholy me. Ebon is the physical day-to-day me. Plain, curvy, quiet, understated, a little shy... but even every-day me feels like a goddess now and then. This is a representation of that: what the mare could be if she only loved herself all the time.

Why Mucha? I never used to like his work, but recently it strikes a chord. The colors are so rich, and the style is superb, but what gets me are the women. They are so full of joy, composure, self-assurance. They're sensual, flehsy, floating spirits. There's a lot in common with another of my favourite artists--Yoshitaka Amano and his floating women.

So I thought... what better way to represent me as a goddess than with Mucha as my guide? And a bit of anthro action, of course... some of the best gods and goddesses come straight from egyptian and pagan lore.

Now lessee...

We have BLACK - for power, elegance, strenght, authority. it's the color you use as a background to let others stand out (me, in a lot of ways). it's the unknown.

the HORSE is a symbol of nature, feminine. a black horse is a representation of a darker/hidden side that wants more. consciousness. horses are associated with divinatination, clairvoyance, compassion, and the total soul's journey.

the TIGER LILY is for pride--i need to take more pride in my art.

STARS are a sign of hope. the psyche. the part of the personality that survives death.

There are SEVEN stars in the sky, and 7 on her headdress. Seven is the number of the philosopher, the sage, the wisdom seeker. reserved, stoic, comtemplative deep-thinker. the esoteric, the exotic, the ethereal. an enigma. seven is associated with the astrological sign, Libra. which is what I happen to be. ;p

the MOON is the feminine principal. she is growth, regeneration, healing, nourishment and protection. she is the emotional side of personality.

BLUE is the color of thought. it is derived from a root that signifies perfection. it is peace, stability, melancholy, loyalty, faith, wisdom, and tranquility. it is also associated with the 5th Chakra of expression.

INDIGO is intuition, spirituality, imagination and understanding.

SO! That's the long symbolism of it all. It's a personal piece, and I'm happy with how it's come out. I hope that you like it too!

Thank you to all of you who have taken the time to read this, to view this piece... and thank you to all of you who have already favourited this!

I love you all!

the thought and symbolism that has gone into this piece is very deep and moving. amazing job. i love the style and the imagery. the individual pieces that represent what you're trying to express were well-thought and incorperated into the image very well. nothing looks out of place.
