Daylight

My 5th watercolor painting ^____^.

It's for my mom for mother's day. She said she liked my birds, so I drew her a Carolina Chickadee, a really pretty little bird ^__^. She loved it, so that's good . I found this neat ref pic in my North American bird book with the blue reflecting off of the wings, so I decided to do that. They don't have blue wings, and yet it looks so cool with them ^__^.

I guess you could say the title was inspired by a Coldplay song of the same name...but I had already finished all the sparklinesses when I decided to make the light and name it Daylight. xD; Good song; you should listen to it!

This probably won't get too many comments, as it's not fantasy (I've noticed that a lot of my non-fantasy art is looked over, so I don't upload as much of it anymore). But, oh well. I really like this . The top of the pic got cut off on the scan...just in case you cared xD.

Watercolors are my very favorite medium. OH, and I tried something that REALLY turned out well: I used white acylic paint for the highlights! It really works well!

Pencil sketch-->Micron lineart-->Watercolors-->Acrylic Paint
6-7 hrs. or so. Watched National Treasure, part of HP2 (it was on abc *shrug*), and listened to Speed of Sound and Daylight, by Colplay. National Treasure is a good movie!
