I actually started doing this in Prismacolor pencils. The material turned out to be rougher than your average canvas so the pencil only hit the upper bump parts.. it friggin' looked like pointilism and I couldn't get any real darks in it, so I went over it with a light wash of paint. One of my favorites of my own, really.

both me and my dad like this one.. and we both agree that the rough texture makes it look like an old cloth painting.... and my dad isn't really into any kind of art... unless it looks like his religious symbol.... which is Ozzy Osbourne... ~_~;;
