Feeling the first of the day's warmth, strange horned reptiles plodded out from their nocturnal burrows and made their slow, lumbering way towards the nearby tussock-topped rocks. As yet, the sun was hidden behind the bulk of an ancient Christian monastery, however the creatures positioned their flanks eastwards, preparing to soak the heat into their large, blood-filled sails as soon as possible. Tiny capillaries underneath the membranous skin of the sail dilated as the sun rose, capturing the light and warming the ectothermic creatures quickly and efficiently. Those who had had enough soon moved off to forage amongst the fallen logs and tangles of shrubbery.

Acrylic on illustration board, 50 x 36 cm.

Wow! Beautiful, the angle you've used is just awesome, and all the tiny details in that background is insane. OMG I just noticed the grass it seems as though I could reach out and touch it.

mangalover Says:

your detailings are just as amazinga as ever! i agree with everything that Heza mentioned in the above comments, and i would also like to add that those bits of green moss on the rock face and on the walls of the old monastry makes the backgroup look even more fantastic.

would also like to add that the bits of moss on the rock face and on the surface of the walls of the old monastery reall makes the backgroud standout and look even more fantastic.

That's just gorgeous! The reptiles and foreground are ace but (this may sound strange?) what I really like are those dark, jaddedy rocks with their twisted trees to the left.
