Ok, I decided today would be spent watching romance movies. This decision led to the purchase of the 2 disc Casablanca DVD. After viewing, I watched the 'making of' segment. At the very end they showed clips of all the spoofs and remakes (through television series or otherwise) of the picture. The voice over woman continued to say after each clip that it "failed to recapture the magic". I rightly guessed they were leading to something, but I was still surprised. Apparently, Carrotblanca, the 1995 Looney Tunes spoof/homage to the classic was the most magnificent thing to come from it, (it shows how bad those TV series really were ^_~). So, after viewing Daffy litterally hammer out 'Knock on Wood' and Bugs do his best Bogart impression, I immeaditly was asking myself "Where can I get this short!?". Thankfully this feeling was shortlived, because the complete version was avalible right there on the DVD! I watched a few times, unable to get over all the gags and references they put in concerning Casablanca that you would only get right after watching the movie (unless you have a perfect memory, which I do not). So, to make a long story short, I had to draw Daffy as Sam. I know I'm going to draw more from it. The casting of each role was so perfect, right down to Pepe LePew as Louie.
