We Are Everywhere

We Are Everywhere

We are born in that instant between peaceful sleep and sluggish awakening. We live in the blurred edge of sanity, feeding on misunderstood dreams and unuttered secret thoughts.

Can you guess what we are?

Sane men fear us, and the insane embrace us. Children play with us without worry until the sun has set, when they run from us and into lighted rooms, but we are there too. We exist at all times, and we make no attempt to hide ourselves because we can never be eliminated.

Can you guess what we are?

Our numbers are infinite, always growing and yet no one pays us mind. Light breeds us, and darkness nourishes us. No prison can hold us, and no mortal man can touch us. We know all because we see all, and yet our intentions are never brought into question, because no one understands our existence.

Can you guess what we are?

Light breeds us, and darkness nourishes us. In the daylight, we are scattered - almost obliterated - yet we still exist in all corners of your world. When the sun sets, we rule over all existence as gods while man sleeps comfortably in our all-consuming embrace.

Can you guess what we are?

We are the Shadows, and we are Everywhere.

Nothing special here, and I'm not at all proud of this work, but I put it up here anyway.

I like the riddle-like writing in this one though.

Very appropiate image as well.
