Type of Cell: Respiratory Syncytial Virus
Function: RSV is a viral infection that most commonly occurs in the winter, is associated with acute respiratory distress and is occasionally fatal, particularly in the very young. Difficulty breathing, coughing, and wheezing are the most common symptoms associated with it. The severity of symptoms varies from case to case ranging from mild to severe.
Appearance: sleek, greyish-blue in color (akin to the color of someone's lips when they're not getting enough oxygen). silver 'hair' that seems to have a mind entirely of its own (actually infectuous tendrils). black 'dress' ends in smoky tendrils made of the same material as her hair.

Personality: Asper. Rough, harsh, severe... just as her Latin name implies. A Respiratory Syncytial Virus, she sneaks into Hector's body with the full intent to cause an all-out severe infection. Because of her double-sided nature and her ability to flow around effortlessly, she is considered highly dangerous.

Asper is a flirt, despite her ice-queen demeanor. She loves to toy with hapless cells, using them to her full advantage, sometimes manipulating other virii. It is in this aspect that she reminds Ozzy of the deadly Thrax... but her plans are far different. A deadly infection is far too obvious. She wants to create a horrible, crippling illness... but she's seeing a bigger picture than the death of just one boy. Asper wants to use him to infect his father, then destroy the whole family from the inside out.

She gets angry whenever she hears someone mentioning Thrax, however... she does not like being considered "second-best" to a deadly virus when she can become just as lethal. Her inferiority complex could be her undoing...

Woo, Asper. I just want to know why whenever I get a story idea, it has to involve something angsty. Like, you know... this crazy psycho-virus. Fortunately for all of us involved, Asper is indeed a villainous virus... so she won't be lasting.

She was inspired greatly by Eris from "Sinbad"... I loved the flowiness of the character, and it seemed to fit the image and persona I had in mind for this viral.
