Damn strait he was in despair! I havne't seen the 3rd movie yet (NO SPOILING) but I hate it when everyone makes it seem like he's evil incarnate- that's naraku.
Sessh is just quite profoundly different than his brother, but I think too many wars have made him a little darker than he truely is. He's never killed Inu even though he could... he's just trying to toughen up his brother so that he can take over his father's lands just as Inunotaisha wanted. He's hurt from not being the "favorite", but he is far from being evil.
By the way, AWSOME image. I love the broken tooth.... old battle damage would be an obvious for the big fellah!
