The night was yet young, though the streets remained empty, the alarms sounded overhead and I could hear their footsteps not far behind my own. I slipped around the corner but it was certain to be of no use, the snow was coming down as quick as my heart was racing, and it wouldn't cover my trail in time I needed that train and I needed it now.
Sure as the moon was bright I heard the rails rattle quietly against the frigid air, men shouted in the distance, the cobblestone platform rattled most of it's snow loose and that's when I really felt the pounding in my chest. Three figures in long brown coats, the ones tailing me emerged from the underpass I just came from, one walked towards me slowly, his gun raised. Cobble and brick exploded to life as a massive black steam train grinded to a halt, creatures of all shapes emerged from it's frame, pouring off of the paint like liquid obsidian.
Before I knew what I was doing, I was on board, and before I knew where I was, I was free.
Enjoy~
