This is an older picture of mine from six years ago, back when I was still going by my old pen name, which I've since abandoned. Part of me is happy with this, while part of me is not (I goofed on quite a few details).
But I think I'm particularly happy with how the background turned out. That was the most effort I ever put into a background, and sadly I've never done anything close to that much effort since. I admit I screwed up on the gate made of rocks, though. That is totally my fault, because I got so focused I wound up drawing it wrong, and it was too late to fix it. As a result it looks pretty awkward, especially with the angle I approached this from as a feeble attempt at doing something different from my norm.
I forget how long it took me to complete the background but I know it took me quite a good while to do. I keep telling myself to get into the habit of drawing backgrounds, but I end up making zero effort. A habit I should make an effort to break and attempt to broaden my horizons and add better personality to some of my work, and to try and further improve.
Despite it's numerous flaws I hope you like it, still.
