Is it Real? Prelude
‘Its so cold… Where… Where am I?… Why does my head hurt so bad?… What happened?…’
A body lies on the ground, covered in grey flakes of frozen water. The figure shuddered, some of the powder rolling off and collecting at its side.
‘Let’s see… I was calibrating my… My… What was it… my band around my wrist… the helper… The Helper… Its screen was off center and I was realigning it… agh my head…’
The body shuddered once more and began to reposition, using an arm to steady itself. It sat up, shaking the flakes of snow from its head.
‘I was in the calibration room, okay… Concussion check… What do I know about the calibration room… it’s a small room… with a plug and some screens on the walls… the outer walls are made of lead and titanium… real thick for some reason…’
The figure raised his hand to it’s head, rubbing gently and feeling wetness. It winced and pulled back the hand, inspecting it. It had a few drops of red liquid on the palm, no major damage.
‘Okay… Amnesia check… My name is… Simon… Simon deRall. I am twelve years old… and… And I am a boy. Yes definitely a boy… obviously… right?’
