Long story short, the scanner is alive again. OMG. So many thanks to everyone who was concerned!
And. . .this is still unfinished, it makes me sad that it looks much lighter here than it really is. I was contemplating starting over, but I kind of like the blending, and it took a long time to do. This character is Artemis, and she belongs to

The hind legs could use a little more definition, though I definitely know how hard foreshortening is. Also, for some reason, the wing closest to us looks almost... flat. I can't quite describe what's off, but something is.
Still, this is a *very* good piece.

Beautiful work! I love the shadow, and the thicker ink lines around the edges of the character are very striking. The shading on the wing is excellent, too. And those feet are just wonderful!
