The betrayal of the Segunda Espada Malaris, has left open wounds, both physically and metaphorically. The physical wounds were no problem for the Arrancar, who either possessed the ability of high speed regeneration or would just naturally heal anyway. The metaphorical would require the attention of the Arrancars leader, Últinimo Rey and heal these metaphorical wounds, he would. His process of healing started by summoning the Fraccion of the Sexta and Octava Espada They walked in together, curious as to why one such as Ùltinimo-Sama would call for them, much less by name.

“I’m glad to see the two of you could make it.” He said, his white eyes in a calm, half shut expression, as if he was dozing off as he spoke.” Your probably wondering why I called the two of you here, I called you here to offer the pair of you a promotion.” He said, not lifting his weary looking eyes from the tome he was reading, an odd sight for a denizen of Hueco Mundo.

“Promotion?” Was all Oretrion could say, perhaps because he thought that Fraccion couldn’t be promoted, or perhaps because of his inaction in recent battles, thought he was not worthy of a promotion of any kind. Últinimo merely smiled at the confusion.

“Yes, Ricardo tells me that you despite inactivity, have more reiryoku then most Arrancar in my service, and perhaps equal or more then the former Decima Espada and you Julie in the last attack had released your Zanpaktuo against a Shinigami’s Bankai and that the Shinigami you faced was no slouch either.” He says, putting an end to all doubt they had, though now felt prideful that Ricardo had told him all this.” And so, I wish to make the two of you Espada.” He says, closing the tome he had been reading and sits with his elbows on the table and his hands held together.” So, what do you say?” He asks.

“Just Espada? With all due respect Últi-Sama, if you were certain of this decision, you would tell us what number you were planning to make each of us and not just a vague term like Espada.” Said Julie, while Oretrion just stood silent.

“Ah yes, Ricardo also told me how you were displeased that you couldn’t end your first fight the same Shinigami.” He said, getting up from his seat, and picking up what looked like two pure white spheres, both of which seemed to radiate with several reiatsu, creating two much larger single reiatsu.” I didn’t say a position because I’m not sure of what your positions shall be yet, as I want you two to consume these and see the results.” He says, pitching the two orbs to them, ore to Oretrion and one to Julie. Both hesitated as they held the spheres.” Don’t worry, these are two new prototypes of a project of mine, I assure you that any bugs they had have been dealt with.” He said, after just a few more seconds of hesitation, they ate the orbs. As soon as they had taken the last bite, they both felt their bodies surge with energy.

Later, the Espada - new and old - were called to another meeting, to discuss their course of action after the Segunda’s betrayal. They stood in a line, as any changes in position had not been announced. Oretrion was calm, just standing at ease with his hands held behind him, while Julie seemed to be nervous, which was odd for the normally free speaking Arrancar. She managed to calm herself as Últinimo and Ricardo entered.

“Primera Espada Ricardo, Segunda Espada Helene, Tercero Espada Rencoroso and Cuarta Espada Fidel, take your seats.” Says Últinimo, and those said do as they are instructed, a smile visible on the face of the former Tercero Espada.” Quinta Espada Rian, Sexta Espada Julie, Septima Espada Jacinto, Octava Espada Bianca and Novena Espada Oretrion, take your seats.” He says. Julie’s face seemed to suddenly jump to an expression of joy and shock, she had been a Fraccion, but now she was an Espada, the Sexta Espada. Taking their seats, all the Espada were aware of their new fellow Espada’s joy.” Now on to current matters, first off, you may notice we have no Decima Espada, I’ll be explaining why after one other matter, the matter of Malaris’s betrayal, if you encounter any of the Arrancar who followed him, or even Malaris himself, show no mercy.” He says, giving a moment for the Espada to take it in.” And now the matter of the lack thereof of a Decima, I wish for Tercero, Sexta, Octava and Novena to go to the living world to battle and capture a Shinigami, preferably one with a unique Zanpaktuo.” He says, at which point the now Octava Espada decides to throw a thought on the table.

“I encountered a Shinigami like that, her Zanpaktuo possessed the ability to copy the abilities of other Zanpaktuo and it’s Bankai was as peculiar as can be with a Zanpaktuo.” She says, the Espada turn to Últinimo to see how he reacts to the outburst.

“Hmm, that is certainly an odd Zanpaktuo, could you identify this Shinigami if you saw them?” He asks, the Octava nods.” Well then, all the more reason for you to go on this mission, your priority shall be the capture of this Shinigami, don‘t disappoint me, all four of you.” He says, before standing up.” Espada, you have your orders, dismissed.” He orders, the Espada all stand up and bow to their master, before going about their plans and preparations.
