This is the second of the two purses I was able to make out of a large tractor tire inner-tube. I think this one came out better because I learned about about working with this type of material after completing my first one. Every stitch required a hole punched through the rubber to allow for the needle to easily pass through. This time I used flaps with magnetic snaps instead of zippers. It was much faster and looks more professional I think. The inside is lined with fabric and the long crossbody strap is removable so that it can be converted to a shoulder bag =)
Total time: ~3 weeks
total accidental finger needle sticks: ~ 11

Very nice work.
Just the design is fabulous on its own, and the fact that its made with an unconventional material just adds to it.
