My version of the dragon that guarded the Golden Fleece.
There's some things I could fix/tidy up but really, this picture's been on my easel for about 18 months and I'm done with looking at it!
Water mixable oil paints (paynes grey and titanium white) on approx 14x10 inch canvas board.

I can't believe there are all these favorites and not one comment. >=x
I really loved this piece. The way the fleece draws your attention especially pleases me. If I'd try to guess based on my own tendencies and behaviors which part of the painting would draw me in first, it would be a tossup between the partially open eye, and the fiery breath... but nope. Threw me a curve ball with that one. :p
I wonder... is this before, after, or during the point when Medea put the ever-wakened dragon to sleep?
Jason just better watch his arse. That's all I have to say about how bad@ss that dragon is. Ethereal and lovely. Fav'd. :3

The style is extravagant, and the value contrast is nicely put together. The overall feeling of this art piece is for the lack of a better work damn good,

I like the use of only grays and whites. The somewhat dauby/blurry texture is a really nice touch. It gives a surreal feel. And it really works well with the clouds. A very nice piece.

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! lol they look like the dragons from the Deltora Quest books, but yours is only in black and white, but still really good.
