The draft for my art project. We were supposed to pick a letter and put a theme to it, but still keep the letter recognizable. The theme didn't necessarily have to go with the letter, but it's easier that way.
So, anyway, I did Ares, the God of War, and Aries the Ram. As you can see there, the ram isn't very ram-ish, which, again, is why I had to draw that other picture. I got bored on one of the days that we had a sub, so I started coloring this, rather than start on drawing on the one that I will turn in. Also, in the final, Ares' pose is MUCH more..natural, and his armor looks infinitely better (I got a reference of a Roman soldier, as well). But, I'm having trouble getting the ram into the final, since in this one, I drew it in first, then Ares, but in the other one, I drew Ares first, so I'm having to match the ram to the man, rather than the man to ram (which is considerably easier).
On the final, I think I'm just going to do a pencil shading, but I'm not fully sold. The other option would be colored pencil, but we JUST finished doing a still life (which we spent, like five weeks doing, not even kidding. We all wanted to burn that stupid plant when we finished. Why would you choose a LIVE plant to do a still life of, anyway?! Every time we came in there, it had moved! Eventually, we had leaves on the paper that looked like they didn't even exist on the plant anymore, and had to do A LOT of improvising) and it was all done in colored pencil, so I'm kinda sick of that. And I REFUSE to do paint. I would do oil pastels, but some of the details are really small, and would get lost :/ Hmm. I don't know, I'll have to choose when it gets completely lined out.
